Player #2141362, My mom and 3 sisters survived the Great Depression by having a garden in their back yard. They also dug down under their house and kept apples, potatoes and other root veggies below ground in winter, bottled fruit, made pickles, and bottled veggies and meat (separately.) Clothes were handed down & mended. Flour sacks sewn into underwear.
