debrabinsky2017, I'm pretty sure that I.S.I.S. got their name from being the Islamic State of Iraq & al-Shams and not from the goddess, due to the fact that they're Islamic and believe in the same God as the other two Abrahamic faiths.
Allah is just the Arabic word for God. If I'm in a Christian church in an Arab country we pray to him, as do all the Arab speaking Jews. ;-)

Montana Lady, Allah, is also the name of an old Arabic moon God, which name was taken to just mean God. Isis, is actually the same goddess from Babylon, Ishtar(pronounced like Easter) that is where the rabbits and eggs come from. she was the goddess of birth/rebirth. She was also referred as the queen of heaven.

Montana Lady, you are correct. The terrorist organization did NOT take their name from the goddess, Isis. I am a practicing High Priest of Auset, which is the ancient Egyptian name for the goddess. (Isis is the Hellenic name, which was given after Alexander II of Macedon (aka Alexander the Great) conquered the Egyptian empire. By the way, I was born in Helena and raised in Missoula.
