In 1917 the Seattle Metropolitans were the first American team to win it, beating the Montreal Canadiens. They were on track to win it again in 1918 but the Spanish Flu hit. Seattle now has the Kracken and the 1917 banner hangs in our new arena, Climate Pledge Arena.
