When did the Aberfan disaster occur?

God rest those poor souls. Can’t imagine the pain and anguish suffered by the families. I was a mere baby at the time.

I just learned about this disaster tonight while watching The Crown.

A horrendous disaster, I was 10 years old at the time 🥺

such a horrific tragedy based on gross negligence and careless disregard. in the states we had similar: earthen dam protecting a man made lake for the rich like Carnegie,Rockefeller, Frick,etc . no one held responsible!!

Mr*Snazzy, I was 11 and I vaguely remember this!! Such a tragedy, it was!!

I watched it on the news and next say we played in school for Aberfan, I was 6 myself it seemed unreal as a kid, a tradegy and unnecessary.
