Nobody here has said Willis isn't American but German, because he was born in Germany yet so many people said that because Kipling was born in India, he wasn't British. Willis is considered American because he was born to American parents, in an American army base. Kipling was British because his parents were British and India, being part of the Empire was effectively British territory. Hopefully that's now cleared that up.

Taramaiden, I am ex military, one of my children was born in W.Germany. But so long as you register the birth at the British Embassy, they are then British. If you fail to register within the time limit, then they are classed as German. And would have to serve in the forces at 18 years old.
