This combined, few sweat glands and the excessive heat in the studio led to overheating in his body. leading to his death.

AustrALIEN, excessive water consumption is called polydipsia. I actually developed it after a head injury. You can definitely drown yourself, but it’s a lot more than 5 litres a day. The allergic reaction makes more sense

There's a newer theory that he died as a result of water toxicity aka drinking too much water. Excessive water consumption can cause cerebral oedema or brain swelling which can result in death. Lee was known to drink more than 5 litres of water a day.
