What is a person who uses computers to gain unauthorized access to data called?

My bank account was hacked recently. People must check their bank accounts and are not aware about small amounts being swiped from accounts. Senior citizens are soft targets.

FYI: Just was hacked & have a large list of various entities that one must contact. Hackers are horrible!

originally a hacker was just a good programmer. They would hack code, write without planning or reference to coding manuals.
