Which of these places is in Yorkshire?
Correct answer: Leeds

Leeds is on the east side of the Pennines ( the ridge of steep hills that run along the 'spine' of England) and they stop the masses of rain-laden clouds that blow over the Atlantic. This gives it a dry (but very cold) climate - ideal for the woollen industry.
Meanwhile the clouds are stopped on the western side and the Greater Manchester area gets the rain, making it damper, (ideal for cotton) which it why it became the Capital of the World's Cotton Industry, and the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. (Wetter but warmer !)

I used to live in Knaresborough, ( pronounced naresbrah) North Yorkshire and my favourite shopping trip was a bus ride to Leeds.
Great city to shop in, but the local bus drivers take no prisoners.😂

Knew this because while growing up in the early 70's there was a soccer (fùtbol) team in my hometown (Manhattan Beach, CA.) with the name "Leeds". Other European names in town were Santos, Gunners, Celtic, Arsenal and Spurs.

Honestly, Yorkshire sounds like a British city name though.
