I absolutely adore the Galapagos Islands, they have always fascinated me. The people and the animals are definitely unique.

Only 3% of the land area in the archipelago is inhabited by humans. The other 97 is not due to the volcanic origins of the islands, no fresh water, and also the establishment of the Galapagos National Park in 1959, which puts emphasis on conservation.
