What is the warmest ocean in the world as of 2016?
Correct answer: Indian Ocean
Shariff
Most countries use celcius. It's a much simpler system. 100°C boiling point of water 0°C freezing. does and °F users who isnt a science fanatic know the same answers?

Buzzem
Good question but just negligent to not include the Celsius equivalent temps
Patti

The Indian Ocean is warm. But it's warmer than other oceans. It's not as if you go swimming and it's a heated pool.

What about Celsius?
Ken
I learned both. look at why they both came to a different scale, and you will see why and how it came to be this way. simple mathematics.

Patti, those places all are heavily influenced or dependent on the USA
Spaz0
I always thought it was the Pacific?!
Vader
Patti, so what
quizzer
Player #15851508, it is much warmer than Pacific near the equator, on average water temps in the Indian ocean near the equator is as high as 28C /82F. you can spend hours in the water without a wetsuit or get hypothermia. however as you go closer to Antarctica it gets really cold.
Quarter Pounder
Colnago CLX, OK, now I'm curious for your story. Researching? Shipwrecked? So many possibilities. What brought you to live on the atoll?

Player #23486888, Who cares abt Celsius?
Quarter Pounder
Patti, Guess it's not outdated if it's still used in the freest country in the world. Celsius isn't better, just different.
Quarter Pounder
biff, Yeah, they renamed the antarctic ocean a few years ago. Dk that it makes any difference. Makes me wonder if it has a drawl 🤣
Quarter Pounder
Shariff, 212 f for boiling, 451 f for burning paper, 32 f for freezing. Celsius isn't simpler, it's just different.
Colnago CLX
I spent 3 months on an Island atoll called Diego Garcia. I can attest it is warm.
Dazza
Shariff, most people with a brain are able to relate to both scales!

Aren't icebergs broken off from glaciers? How do they "form" in cold seas?
Thunderduck
Bit of trivia: you could still die from hypothermia in that ocean. It just would take longer...
Player #32549118
biff, but that’s what they call it, as well as Antarctic Ocean.
Feline
biff, why a question mark? The Antarctic Ocean is also called Southern Ocean.
Player #33073783
I'm not so sure that icebergs form in the Indian Ocean so much as they are calved from the glaciers in Antarctica and float up to the coast of South Africa from there.
Guillermo Jr.
have swum there.. it sure WAS warm.
Jonny Egghead
tricky one that...(not) !
Guillermo
Little Saint, I have swam in Antarctica.. definitely not the warmest.. brr.. swam for 1 minute..
Guillermo
I have swum in both and the Indias was definitely warmer.. the Pacific is chilly even on the equator we needed wet suits
