LittleTragedy7, I lived in Africa for several years until early 2000s. I loved when we were invited to a village. They had us sing for them. (Not everyone was a singer and we were pretty bad.) But we were received so graciously. Then the village gave us what amounted to a concert. Complex rhythms with tiny preschoolers hitting their family's drums as proud papa beat it too. Great harmonies from the whole group. It was fantastic. I was glad I went. It would have been a shame to miss it. Now it is a forever memory.

Mstan60, Geography, English, reading at all grade levels requiring writing in full proper sentences and not changing real works of literature in a foolish attempt to cause the students to better enjoy reading, history explaining that history repeats itself..... My son "read Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, only it had been changed to some male name and Julio.As if that was frightening enough, he told me the characters spoke just like we do. I have a Master's Degree inEnglish and an all time favorite author happens to be Shakespeare. I asked him if he had footnotes at the bottom of each page, helping him to understand Rennassance language. He asked what footnotes were. I was startled. Have we really come to the point, that we need to butcher great works of literature, to make it easier for our children to understand and enjoy. How insulting that is to our children's IQ.
