Where is the Colosseum?
Correct answer: Italy

Myffa
TigerBalm, No, that is a myth. It certainly happened - but not at the Colosseum, there is NO evidence. The idea was propagated by a novel - "Quo Vadis " - published in 1895. The martyrdoms happened at many other places, including the Circus of Nero, nearby. There were undoubtedly many deaths at the Colosseum; gladiators fought animals and each other, there were circus performances and spectacles, but any Christians involved were not there because of their beliefs and their fate was incidental to it. There were also public executions, but for crimes, or sedition, not being Christian. So, go with a clear conscience, the place is no more hateful than others, and less so than some.
