Definitely an acquired taste for me. I grew up deep sea fishing with my dad, and eating fresh fish that was typically prepared in the broiler. I did eat the freshest sushi you can get as an adult when we would catch yellowtail. We had soy sauce & wasabi ready and would filet the fish on the spot and eat the sushi right out of the water.
