Dorothy, In the UK it's usually called "Rainbow Cake" or simply"Birthday Cake".Especially applied to things that look like,that, but aren't cake at all. E.g. Biscuits (cookies) or ice cream.

I Love All that icing on my cakes!! When I was a kid, I'd eat the icing and leave the cake!! Yes, I was a cute, little handful!! I don't do that so much anymore. My favorite cakes are: cheesecake, chocolate cake, carrotcake, Oreo dirt cake, Hersheys double chocolate cake, etc.
