This is great (and scary) info!!!! Every time i get poked by a rose thorn it burns terribly and i get a rash all around it. Assume it means a reaction....but never heard you could actually get sick like that!

Goodness gracious! I am a microbiologist and avid gardener of hundreds of flowers including many varieties of roses. I have never heard of this and prefer to get my hands dirty rather than use gloves. I am changing this habit today!
