What is the average lifespan of a domestic cat?

We had 3 lovely cats in succession who each lived to 18. I'm glad we were so lucky.

Our cat is sixteen years old. I really hope he lives a few more years.

We've had 2 cats live to 20. The last survivor is 21. She's nearly deaf and blind but she hangs on because of the good noms. ;)

My cat lived almost 25 years.

We also have been blessed with wonderful kitties over the years. At one time, we had 4 with us and they all got on very well together. Priscilla died 2 months short of 21 years old and Alexander died at 22.5 years. I miss them all so much. We have (only 1) kitty now, Suzannah, who is 13. We hope to have her into her 20s.

Myffa, I had a lovely cat once who lived to 20 She was such a character, we had to warn anyone who came into our house to be aware that she'd climb up onto their shoulder. Our present cat is nearly 11

cats can live more than 18 years in average , if they avoid traffic. I train them to be afraid of cars

ours are farm cats, usually depart this life around 10 years but the current doyenne is 14 and full of life.
