There is a very good book called "The Frontiersman" by Allan Eckert. I has more to do with Simon Kenton who was a companion of Daniel Boone. It gives great insight into how life was and the conflicts between the Indians and settlers.

It was Tecumseh who put a curse on the office of Potus saying that every President elected in a year ending in 0 would die in office. Starting with William Henry Harrison (who was at the Battle of Tippecanoe), it came true for every president up through Kennedy. Reagan was shot in office but didn't die so it could be said that he broke the curse.

I worked at an outdoor drama (Blue Jacket) in Xenia, Ohio for numerous years. Learned a lot about the Shawnee. Tecumseh (Panther in the Sky) was born in a town called Old Town, Ohio nowadays. He received his name from a comet that was passing over during his birth. Might not have Shawnee blood in my veins, but do have Apache...

As a kid growing up I always rooted for the Cowboys over the Indians. As I grew older I realized how wronged the Indians were treated and I started rooting for them.

Mike, actually there’s a town in Ohio named Kenton and a school named Simon Kenton in it, so to say no one has heard of him is very inaccurate.

hummbabe00, Eckert's book A Sorrow in Our Hearts is the book you want to read for Tecumseh's story. But you're right, The Frontiersmen is an excellent narrative that details the westward expansion into the Ohio and Kentucky lands.
