What do you call the front glass window of a car?

If the words are different in American English and Commonwealth English, why can't both words be given as one of the options? I have often been unable to recognise the correct answer only because I don't recognise the word(s) used.

"Standard English" is the correct name of the language, not ' Commonwealth' - it is spoken way beyond the Commonwealth!
