I lived in Burton, the smell when breweries were brewing was awful. Then you've got the marmite factory, marmite is an off shoot of brewing industry, its a yeast based savory spread, with advertising slogan of you either love it or hate it, I hate it!!!

Fred, I used to live down the road from the Boddington brewery in Manchester (and also when fosters took it over) and you could definitely smell the malting and brewing processed happening. made most of moss side smell. I loved it though reminded me of Charle and the chocolate factory... but with beer of course :D
