Our family watched it weekly during its original run. Due to not being politically correct, it wouldn't be broadcast in today's society. My dad was similar to how Archie was portrayed.

Not politically correct is an understatement! Although at the time when the show was hugely popular and funny, I thoroughly enjoyed it, now I am surprised it isn't banned and I think it's really racist. And, IMO, it allowed some to feel justified in thinking like Archie. Maybe he had a "good heart," but I now see how the show portrayed things as the norm, and that isn't something I like.
