In the novel 'Little Women' which of the March sisters dies after contracting scarlet fever?

Alcott's characters were so realistic! I remember crying when I read she had died.

I knew this from FRIENDS. (Book in the freezer episode)

I have probably read Little Women 30 times!! It has been made into several films and even a Broadway musical. I grew up with those March sisters. They are like old friends.

I always thought it was tuberculosis..

I recently read this book for the first time and loved every bit of it. The book gave so many more details than any of the movies that were inspired by it.

I read somewhere that Alcott disliked her book Little Women (and the sequel Little Men). When she wrote them she was pandering to a specific audience & the books did not at all reflect her true attitudes.
