What citrus fruit is traditionally squeezed over seafood?

In ancient times, the juice of a lemon was thought to dissolve any fishbone that may have been accidentally swallowed during eating. That's where the tradition of eating fish with lemon came from.

Besides seafood, lemon is best used in Thai and Indian cuisine. Also middle eastern as well.

I have used limes and oranges too. Bananas are just a really silly choice.
