Which animal is known for its distinctive roar?

How about a lion ? And I thought there was a Mouse That Roared ?

SAZZY, I think a bear has a distinctive sort of coughing roar - when you hear it you know it’s a bear.

Its actually Stags ( as under Deer ) who are known for their roar : which may not be as loud but the Roar is more usually associated with them and they have a 'roaring season' when its mating time -

bears are the cutest!!!! there was once a bear with just two legs, but the hunter didn't see the other half and shot it. so sad.

I always associated the distinctive roar from a lion not a bear, but clearly the other animals don't make much noise.
