The equivalent in Australia are called brumbies. There are many wild horses in the UK, but because of their smaller size, they are called ponies. Exmoor and Dartmoor ponies, New Forest ponies, Welsh mountain ponies, Highland ponies. Probably the most well known is the Shetland pony.
