Tom, I would imagine that they know what's good for them. Well most of them. I am sure that you love them, and I know that they love you too. They all have their own characters.

Yes, cats are obligate carnivores but they also choose to eat other things. I have had many cats in my life and one loved tortillas (so much so, he was nicknamed Tortilla Tom) one loved to eat small pieces of cake and one loved boiled potatoes, she had the nerve to steal them from plates. Before anyone says that they'd live longer without these item, Tom lived to age 20, came friend lived to 18 and tattie girl lived to 19. My oldest cat lived to 24.

Tom, I wonder if cooking the meat takes the nutrition out because if they hunt they eat it raw.

I cook meat for my cats to eat. However, it doesn't stop them from eating vegetables. They raid the vegetable scraps bin, for the garden, and pull out things like pumpkin skins. The meat is in their bowls and they are sitting on the kitchen floor eating pumpkin skins.

Miss Sue, You say " loved" I assume that she has passed away, sorry for your loss. However I just wonder if you provided the correct diet for a cat ie. meat? Fries are fine as an occasional treat, my cat loves cheese...OCCASIONALLY!!! Please read the reason that cats MUST have a meat diet. Excluding accident or illness, cats should live to 18 or more years.
