Poor Robert Ludlum, wrote over 40 books, just a couple made into forgettable movies, then he dies. Year later, Bourne takes off. He never lived to see its popularity. His plots are so fantastic, captivating, yet the Bourne series is not over-the-top like his other books, and it clicked. Life is strange.

I remember the first time I read the Bourne identity . I pictured in my mind what he looked like and Matt Damon's face did not come to mind. the books were better than the movies. it is too bad Ludlum didn't live to see his popularity.
