When I was a little squirt, I had a little plastic protractor in my pencil case. I never used it for anything. When I took Geometry as a sophomore in high school, it was never introduced in class. 60 years later, it is still not necessary for anything. The thing was invented in 1589. It has since gone the way of the horse-and-buggy and spats.
