Diver Dan, No, they were not 'mostly Australian'. Not arguing with your sentiment BUT 73,000 British and Irish troops died as opposed to 23,000 Australian. Yes, they were all needless deaths, but dont make out like only the Australians were cannon fodder, as you put it, because there were other allied countries there also and Britain itself had the highest number of casualties!
