it's not called Ayers Rock anymore as that is disrespectful to Indigenous Australians. It is called Uluru.

SAC69, You can but you are asked not to. We didn't but there were some who ignored the request and climbed it anyway. Not that we would have been up to it anyway as we are in our seventies. We took the bus around it.

, Well it's still known as Ayres Rock, if even it's no longer pc to reference it as such. I remember the dual name order swap actually, and it was the first time I'd heard "Uluru" - which I now prefer.
