Who was Dave Brubeck?

My brother Ron discovered Dave Brubecks music early on in life, and introduced me into the whole world of jazz and blues when I was in my teens. I loved it too, and to my credit brother Ron thought that he and I were soulmates. he was brilliant and learned in so many fields, and I loved hearing him talk about them. He was a self-trained pianist, which is quite a feat.
