Rowling has given me so much joy. Her books have gotten me thru some difficult times in my life when I needed to escape for a little while.

Cjrags49, question was for a series of books not a single book, ALTHOUGH you could argue that the Bible is either a series of 66 books or one book with a lot of chapters.

Lord Of The Rings is so much better!

Mass Hypnosis
Tolkien shoud be no1

Starlover
Honestly, I'm reading the lord of the rings and it's so much better than Harry Potter
HP is good, and I get why it's famous, but Tolkien was a much better writer, when I read it I can almost see the characters in front of me and hear them talk and sing
It's really great

Mass Hypnosis, it’s not a matter of preference .. it’s obviously a matter of fact.

Aki
would have choose R.L Stine but none of the people I knew even know him. He made me love books, because of his Goosebumps Series.

Shelby Johnson
She is a role model to a lot of women in the world. A single mother, trying to provide for herself and her children(who was on the British equivalent of government assistance like food stamps) wrote a book which not only paid the bills but changed the world! As a single working mother myself, she gives me hope that one day I will be able to provide for my children, myself and maybe find an occupation that I am happy doing. THANK YOU J K Rowling!!

I don't like jk Rowling

Tigress
The story made kids put down computer games and read. Hallelujah! The complexities increase as the children age, just like real life. She deserves all she has earned, she made it happen.

IN HIS BOOK HARRY POTTER WE FILL LIKE WE ARE LIVING THE LIFE OF HARRY POTTER

Deborah , Thank God for Tolkien because without him, Rowling wouldn’t have given us dementors, giant spiders, underwater zombies, an evil piece of jewelry weighing heavily from a chain around the neck…

The major difference between Tolkien and Rowling is that Tolkien wrote for adults and Rowling for young adults. Of the two, I prefer Rowling/Galbraith.

I enjoyed reading all the books, dearly. It still bothers me that they went home for "christmas" instead of Solstice, though.
