horses have healthier feet and hooves as well healthier legs and joints if they are do not wear shoes. keeping shoes off horses is better for them. keeping the hooves trimmed regularly is also important. just a tip from a horse lover

It thrives in warm dark places in any mammal species, including adult humans and certainly horses feet if not kept in clean conditions and stones etc removed.

Player #10639782, my horse has been barefoot most of his 19 years. However, when I know I am going to be on rocky and rough terrain, I will have shoes put on.
Sometimes shoes are the healthier option. It really depends on the horse's feet and what the horse does.

thrush is also a fungal infection in horses feet, not only something babies get. a good way to reduce fungal problems is to put a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in a 8 oz. glass of water and drink it. also good to put in your horses feed.
