What road feature helps guide nighttime drivers?

Very odd man. Made a vast fortune from his invention, but only bought a huge house. Didn't furnish it, and lived the life of a miser, rather than enjoying his wealth. But has saved hundreds of thousands, maybe millions, of lives. Every road traveller owes him - and cats- a huge debt !

Helps to see at night for older people in unknown places.

I HATE the new LED headlights. They almost ALL seem T00 bright for me. Need the car manufacturers to aim them down a little towards those marvelous markers. Good thing they paint those white stripes along the shoulders to keep me from going in a ditch, or worse, hit someone head-on. Can't see with those lights sometimes and have to watch the lines . . .
