Which brain disease causes progressive memory loss and confusion?

My dad and his mum both had early onset Alzheimer’s, dad was only 55 when diagnosed and 60 when he passed 😢 his mum was only in her 40’s when diagnosed and about 52 when she passed. It’s such a cruel disease
