What is the largest lake in Africa?

I am Ugandan and I can assure that Lake Victoria looks nothing like that. Locals down here call it, "Nalubale" which translates to "death.' There is a legend that states, the god of death, " Walumbe" retreated there after his father tried to punish him for "stealing" (read killing) his sister "Nambi"s children. He comes from the lake, kills, and runs back there to hide. That's why nobody ever "returns" from death.

Google doesn't have one single image of Lake Victoria with trees like those.

Lake Victoria is in East Africa, shared by three countries - Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. It’s the source of the river nile that runs all the way to the Mediterranean Sea in Egypt. It is a fresh water lake and a source of livelihood for many.
