Which craft uses colorful sand to make pictures or patterns?

If I were to accidentally make something awesome with sand art I would probably pour acrylic on top of it and keep forever! I would be "missing the point" on purpose! It would make a wonderful clock face, further MTP! That's what makes me tick.😉
