Royal Airforce Museum in London is amazingly interesting. Loads of airplanes in different hangars and plenty fascinating information. Also there is free entry and you can spend 5 hours there easily. Definitely worth a visit when in London!

My second favourite aircraft of all time, greatest of WW2. My 3rd favourite is the Dam busting Lancaster, of which many were built at Avro in Malton, ON, Canada. This is where my #1 aircraft of all time the Avro Arrow was developed in the 1950s.

veritates loquitur, If your ever in Washington DC, The Smithsonian Air and Space Museum is free and absolutely amazing! They have many flying machines from all the wars and around the world even the Wright Bros plane!! Plus an entire section devoted to space and the aircraft that has carried man to the moon and back also a rover that rode on the moon 🌝

Player #773249, They made a brilliant film about him, starring Leslie Howard, The First Of the Few. Sad as he died before he saw his plane help the win the war. And sad, too, that Leslie Howard also died in the war. I loved his films.

Xalver, the Avro Arrow would still be flying today with new avionics, I'm sure.

My father (RAAF) trained in them in occupied Japan in preparation for Korea. I have an iconic photo he took on one flight of 2 Spitties flying over a snow covered Mt Fuji. I also, when young, saw one crash at a small airshow and cried, not for the pilot (didn't know at the time my father had been his flying instructor)but because such a beautiful thing had been broken.
