Funny how Indiana Jones pet is named Indiana and this is Jones, basically pet name and surname. I wonder if Lucas/Spielberg got inspired by Alien.

Drugo, possible. The Indiana part came from Marcia Lucas's dog. The Jones was used instead of Smith, which was the first choice. Nothing about why they chose Jones though, when they needed an alternate name.
