Which animal's males carry young in a special pouch?

Of course seahorses are fascinating, but they are not the only fish who have an ingenious way of caring for their offspring. Various species of cichlids (a freshwater family of fish) have an amazing and far more taxing way of keeping their eggs and young safe. The female gathers up her fertilised eggs and carries them in her mouth. She doesn't eat until they hatch and the babies rush back into her mouth at the first sign of danger.
