The ONLY movie to ever scare & simultaneously scar me - truly an adrenaline rush unsurpassed since that first viewing - Sanfrantastic!

I read the book first. Never had I been that scared in my life. A grown man, leaving the lights on at night. Then I went to see the movie. Although the book was actually better, the movie brought it all to life. BIG MISTAKE! 😳

I wasn't quite old enough to see it in the theaters so I saw it later on VHS tape I was 13 I think I was still too young I had many dreams about it

That was some exit by Father Karras. The crucifix never looked so horrifying that Regan became attached to.

The silliest scene was when they lifted up her shirt, and it said “help me” on her stomach like she’s in there able to scratch a note on the wall.

That was totally a guess cuz I’ve never seen this movie! I was 9 in 1973, so I was way too young to see it, & by the time I was I got to HS in 1979 I had no interest in seeing this film & still don’t! I’m so Not a big horror movie fan! Suspenseful movies yeah!! but horror scary or bloody slasher movies Nah!!

the real priest was locked away for years because of demons in him. Why couldn't they take the demons out of him and cast them into swine like in the Bible? Also took about 30 days to do the exorcism

We used to buy beer from the liquor store around the corner and sit and drink it at the bottom of those steps.

WillyLoman, that word (defenestrating) is specific enough to be Japanese! I don't think I've heard that in English speech before.

Player #20136064, yep, that's what it says up there in the explanation.

the question was how he died. he threw himself out the window but he was impaled. he was alive before then.

Player #5150, My favorite horror film of all time. He purposely throws himself out of the window after he coaxes Pazuzu out of Reagan and into himself.

great movie great book. I believe it is the first instance in cinematic history of a Catholic priest defenestrating himself... I could be mistaken
