I used to cruise in Modesto. I still live here.

What a great movie with all those previous upcoming Stars. Nice soundtrack too.

DiamondGirl98
I love this movie and love Wolfman Jack! He was the absolute coolest DJ ever. I remember listening to him when I was a kid. I love the sequel "More American Graffiti." It's very good as well. The original is the better of the two though.

NastyAstrologer21418, not wrong answer. My husband was a Petaluma local & really into racing & cars. He and his best friend are in the movie cruising.

God-is-AMAZING!
ItchyDrake60874,

Sorry guys. I lived in Petaluma, spent time at Skywalker Ranch (George Lucas' production Company location) and rode sportbike motorcycles (crotch rockets) with the cook there. He showed me production stills of the movie, and it was definitely Petaluma footage. It was NOT filmed in Modesto. Some San Rafael (very little) and touches of other towns like Cotati & Sebastepol.

Nerak 7, would like to see this cast again together .. but it is sad that some of the cast is gone….

Xtine
I am in Petaluma at this very moment. Why do people think it was filmed in Modesto? If that was the case we wouldn’t have American Graffiti day each year. … here in PETALUMA.

Hunger Knowledge
The Creater of Darth Vader directed American Graffiti? Sure wish 🤞 he would direct Dr. Doom ! He has a better understanding of the character than The MCU

Nerak 7
Love this movie .. it was so good.. The actors of that movie need to re join for a special.. I a, surprised it has not happened yet. Sad that Cindy and Suzanne passed .. both were so good on their sitcoms

Kathy
Trick question. Answer should be Modesto.

love this movie, I'm a big gear head, and love fast car's.

Petaluma is not the city of American Graffiti. It was Modesto CA. I'm done playing this game. Goodbye.

LillySparrow
Suekirider, yes your right! Here’s some info about it: “Instead, the majority of the American Graffiti filming locations can be found in Petaluma, California. Even now, it has instantly recognizable features that were in the movie. The town absolutely loves the film and even hosts an annual classic car festival in American Graffiti's honor.”

Bjach, yes, five stars ⭐️

Great movie ❤️

Chankpurisima
Petaluma was the best place to still “go cruising” in the 80’s and 90’s. We cruised the same strip that was in the movie, in front of the old movie theater downtown. So much fun and social meeting before social media.

We used to cruise down 4th Street in Santa Rosa in the late 60s-early 70s… and I recall listening to the Wolfman late at night… truly heady days back then… we were such innocents 😟

Suekirider, hmmm, living in Petaluma seems like you'd know how to spell Sebastopol... 🤦🏼♀️

Waldo Lydeker
Petaluma also has the distinction of hosting the first ever arm wrestling championship in 1962. In fact, Peanuts comic strip had Snoopy competing in Pentaluma but was disqualified because he had no thumb.

Jesse Tello
