Player #185561, I'm in Pennsylvania, lived n the valley within mile of Susquehanna river all my life and for a few years across the street from the river and less than 10 miles west of the trail, I love it here in summer, it is very beauriful!

If you don't have the wherewithal to hike the AT, the book "A Walk In The Woods" by Bill Bryson is a satisfying and hilarious read.

another amazing journey is the Blue Ridge Parkway thru the Appalachian mtns. Save yourself some hiking! (of course you still can in lots of places along the way)
