This was discovered in the town my family was from, Würzburg Germany. I got to see the bldg where the lab was. As great of a discovery, people at that time didnt know the harmful effects of over exposure. Edisons assistant lost his hands and died from the xray exposure.

Nikola Tesla was first who invented X-ray. A year earlier than Röntgen. Due to a fire in Tesla's lab, lost everything and didn't wanted to redo his research. Röntgen and Tesla worked together.

BTW he used his wife as a learning example. It took 25 minutes to take the x-ray then using film. We now use digital x-ray and exposure is almost minimal. I taught Dental Radiology for 22 years. It has surely changed!
