I grew up in Manhattan Beach, CA, in the 60's-80's and am "goofy footed". Never heard it as just "goofy". Also left foot dominant on the soccer pitch.

Centenarian, You Rascal, I've thought you hit that peak long ago. I've wondered how many +'s you didn't admit to. God bless you for hanging in there so long.

The riding style is named Goofy after the cartoon character because that's how he rides 😉

I always thought this was strange cuz most skate/snow boarders I've met ride goofy-footed. I do, too, even though I am right handed.

EliteLawyercat57024, it's never too late to learn a sport. Why not try it?
All ski resorts offer lessons (private & public) have rental equipment for both skiing & snowboarding and have lockers for your things... it's also usually fairly cheap to get a ticket for the beginner area.
