I had a ground hog in my backyard in Delaware, and had recently moved there from AZ. In DE they called it a whistlepig, because if you whistle it stops dead in it's tracks lol

Nutshell, apparently the native-born Americans weren't the savages that they were made out to be by the European settlers it seems like the way they were going about doing things was the correct way to get things done but the European settlers had to find out the hard way after the topsoil was blown away during the dust storm

The groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, comes out every Feb 2 in the small Pennsylvania, where my mom was born in1903, first daughter of English and Irish immigrants. My grandfather Charles Allen owned a hardware store and his wife Elizabeth Handley had 10 kids, of whom 7 reached adulthood. 😍
