"One nation, under God" was added to the pledge of allegience in the 1930s. I recall my father telling me it was added while he was in school. I wonder why the delay.

christine, Jefferson was adamant that we be founded under "nature's God" . Isn't that a form of Christianity? What we have now is judaism giving itself priority over Christians and all other religions. That is exactly what the founders tried to prevent because they had seen how that had played out in other countries throughout history. Here we are, fooled again

Leonidas, maybe you should open a history book? it was added in the 50's to combat the rising tide of communism, and ironically, it's also when we started playing the national anthem at sporting events. Heck, I even think there's a video of Red Skelton introducing the NEW pledge with the added 'Under God' in it that was /broadcast on national tv/... seriously, it's/never/ been there from the start and even my teachers in the 90's made sure we knew it was a modern addition
