Who is the author of "El espíritu de las Leyes "("The Spirit of Laws")?

The US Founding Fathers included many of the ideas in this book when creating our government, Constitution, & Bill of Rights, but unfortunately ignored his arguments for the abolition of slavery.

Using spanish title doesn't make sense when the author was French

From the1400's and through 1700's, Spain was the kingdom of wealth and prosperity. They are the reason the Americas were acquired. If Spain had there stuff together (politically) we would all be speaking Spanish today.
