We also were required to make the floor slanted and dig two deep holes on both side of the foxhole. The logic being if a grand was thrown in the hole it would roll down the slant into the deep holes and would protect us by bunting the explosion.

HotGenius71509, there is a show called Horrible Histories on kid's ABC & Discoveries that is good in giving you the heads up on names, events, dates etc. I know history is not everyone's favourite subject, but this show makes learning history almost fun.

Justin Ahlders, Thank you for your service, and a heartfelt thank you to all veterans. All service members play an important role in keeping us safe and keeping the peace when we’re not at war. Several of my own family members have served. We all owe a deep debt of gratitude to them.

My husband served during the Vietnam War. Very unpopular war. never had any respect for his service to his country until a few years ago when the USA was fighting in several countries around the world. Now he is always thanked for his service as he walks downstream street with his USS Coral Sea hat on his head. Thanks to all of you who appreciate our service men. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, firemen and policemen. Did I forget anyone? My apologies if I did.
