I met John Schneider while I was in prison. He was a guest not an inmate. What a guy. He did a duet of the good ol boys song with an inmate. Awesome

*Note: I've NO IDEA how that number got there after my comment. I certainly had nothing to do with it. Huh??! FYI, fellow Substackers!

Glendar
Love all the Highwaymen. I never did get the chance to see them live, but I DID see Johnny Cash at a Billy Graham Crusade in the mid '70s--I was lucky enough to be in one of the area youth choirs that were asked to come sing---- and so, TECHnically, I sang backup for Johnny Cash, as the choirs were his "backup" singers! At the now-demolished Kingdome, no less.
(Years later I would work there--Ticketmaster NW's HQ in the '80s was in a tiny concrete office space within the rabbit warren that was the Dome! Ha, we used the players wives' lounge for the bathroom!)
I'll never forget "Singing with The Man In Black" though! Didn't get to meet him but he was within shouting distance! (No, I did not shout but I most definitely would NOW! ... were he alive, ofc...) Memories! 🥰

My family were able to go to the Duke's Fest many years ago and were able to meet many cast members. We were only allowed two autographs though, Jon Schneider and James Best. There were hundreds of General Lees and I remember the cast singing "Good Ol' Boys" at one point on stage. Fun times! Even though I was in a wheelchair, having recently been released from the hospital with 3 pulmonary embolisims.

TC
