She was assassinated because of Operation Blue Star this resulted in anger within the Sikh community after her death at the hands of her body guards it’s estimated that 40,000 Sikhs died in north & central India as a direct result. I don’t much about Sikhism or India for that matter though I love India’s diversity & rich history .. I have heard of the generosity & good faith from a Sikh temple who have an annual food festival not far from where I lived every year where ‘everyone from all faiths are welcome’ where I’ve heard they believe in togetherness & tolerance etc. So not sure but I’m guessing this is one of those instances where the outcome is a result of 1) some form of power struggle & corruption coz it evidently usually does & 2) a combination of a multitude of issues marred by a long history & 3) her being a woman I’m sorry to say may have also played a part. Yeah, totally not sure just saying, well regardless she will not be forgotten either way.

She had many innocent sikhs killed and provided no justice for ongoing violence, and segragation against sikhs. The houses of Parliament has been lobbied for an official apology for the British involvement in assisting her in the planning of the 1984 attack. If it was not for these singhs there would be no India history shows that they were the only group of people to successfully defend against and defeat the then known mughuls or isis.
